Layered Bean Dip

For years, we would make this dip for every gathering, every weekend.

Easy Layered Bean Dip

It’s crazy easy to make and always a crowd pleaser. It’s been a while since I’ve made it (December 2017) and I’m looking forward to our next get together to throw it together again!

Let’s Party #19!

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

4d665-72bbottles2bof2btequila

I’m hoping you all had an awesome time this past weekend with Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby, my birthday AND if you live local, the Air and Sea Show!

Mark had treatment #5 Tuesday. Currently sleeping still this morning as that stuff makes him all jacked up on Tuesday … was fidgeting still at 2am so I have no idea what time he fell asleep finally! We head to Houston that first week of June so excited/nervous/scared … prayers are accepted!

Last week we had some AWESOME shares yet again! You guys all rock! Thank you for stopping by each week to give inspiration and ideas to all of us!

I’m fairly easy going and will not tire you with rules, BUT please, make sure you share family friendly links and tips and while you are at it, go visit some of the other folks who are sharing here!

We all love comments so make sure you leave a comment when you go visit the others!

Party Size Peanut M&M
Mark is up in Indiana this week so that there has been my dinner …. just kidding, not really, I’ve not even opened them yet! I have, however, consumed TWO cans of Pringles during dinner hour … need to get a little more focused at that time!

We had some GREAT shares last week, AGAIN! Thank you all for stopping by and sharing your wonderful ideas and projects!

Let’s Party #17!

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

I had a quick trip to NW Indiana last Thursday and Friday to help Mark out with a couple of units … he wasn’t feeling all that great earlier in the week so I decided to just go help him out! I’m glad I did, but I must say, the weather was … different. COLD at night and beautiful looking during the day except that wind! 😉 I’ve become a thin blooded Floridian!

Mark had his 4th treatment today (Tuesday) and he’s all worked up. Those steriods really do their job! This week, he will take a pill on Friday to offset his worst feeling day. I guess it’s because he goes off the pump on Thursday afternoon and his body really starts to feel the effects of the chemo on Friday … he’s feeling the neuropathy and his skin is starting to break down around the port. Luckily he only has TWO more treatments and then we head to Houston for another scan to see how things are progressing and improving, hopefully!

Vineta over at the The Handyman’s Daughter caught my attention again with her post on how Build Recessed Bathroom Shelves … if she keeps this up, I might just go ahead and re-do my awful dusty rose bath!

Kit at The Kittchen shared her Lemon Parmesan Fettuccine … this caught my eye as the nutritionist had told Mark to try lemon seasoned foods when he is dealing with the metallic taste in his mouth (which has stayed with him now for the past 2 weeks) …

I’m am ready to get this party on the road again!

Just Like Olive Garden Salad

Stay home tonight and make yourself a salad just like Olive Garden!

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve been inside an Olive Garden restaurant … the unlimited salad and breadsticks used to always get me … I am a sucker for warm, soft bread, you know? Oh, and I just love that salad too … the dressing, luckily, is easy to replicate, as is the salad itself.

Quick! Does anyone else have these really cool metal bowls from, probably the mid 1960’s early 1970’s? My mother in law had a ton and when she passed away, I snagged a few to bring home … my all time favorite salad bowls!

The other good news about this salad? Saving you moola … as in a minimum of $20 … like I said, been a LONG time since I’ve been to Olive Garden but I do remember that a dinner entree was at least $12.99 and that was a few years ago … so figure two people, easily $25 AND then most likely, a beverage (or two) and there you have it … el cheapo night out got a little more expensive …

Let’s Party #16!

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

Mark had his third treatment last Tuesday … it was a rough recovery … still has that metallic taste in his mouth, can’t eat anything cold, hands are VERY sensitive to cold and his toes are starting as well (I believe this is the neuropathy side effect). He flew to Indiana on Friday morning and has just had a rough time there. So much so that I booked a flight for Thursday morning to spend a few days with him and then fly back together on Saturday afternoon …

Butt warmer

I’m laughing at Big Kitty from a while ago … he gets a little needy and jelly too so he’ll just park himself on the laptop when I walk away! This is an OLD picture as that phone! 2010 folks! So long ago! As I type this post he is sitting on my lap wondering when I’m going to relocate to the couch!

We had some great shares again this last week!!

Venita at the Handy Mans Daughter shared her bathroom renovation … I’m really drawn to this post because we have this awful rose colored bathroom (that we know – we’ve been told! – is hindering our sale!) … I’m going to have to follow along on her project and check out her other stuff too!

Katie at Paradise Praises shared How To Create Happiness … this could not come at a better time in my life than now! Yes, a lot of it is geared towards those with kids (she does have 5!) but still … as an adult, I still want to experience happiness so I’m all for it!

AND then we had Jennifer over at Busy Being Jennifer sharing all those awesome Cinco de Mayo cocktails! Did you know that my birthday IS on Cinco de Mayo? Arriba!  She shares FIFTY cocktails! Sweet momma, I don’t think I can do all 50! Go check it out, I’m sure there’s one or two that will be calling your name!

I’m am ready to get this party on the road again!

Let’s Party #15

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

We’ve been enjoying the pool and Mark even broke down and finally bought some chaise lounge chairs to put poolside. He’s coming around in his older years!

simpler wines rose case.jpg
I need to hit up Trader Joe’s soon and stock up on a case of these little canned wines before summertime hits … they were perfect for Saturday afternoon floats!

Mark had his 3rd treatment Tuesday and is currently hooked up to his IV for the next 2 days. Totally felt that cold sensitivity this afternoon … poor guy. I feel bad and he just doesn’t feel good this evening. Currently sleeping in the recliner as I type this up …

There were some great shares last week! My most favorite would be the 5 Mental Hacks to Have a Happier Life

Then there was the awesome Sunday Dinner Roundup … who needs a special Sunday to cook up some of that stuff? I’ve already pinned a few of the recipes she shared!

And then, with summertime coming up, many of you are probably counting the days with these April snowstorms, it’s time to Transform Your Deck and get them clean!

So let’s see what you have to share this week! I’m fairly easy going and will not tire you with rules, BUT please, make sure you share family friendly links and tips and while you are at it, go visit some of the other folks who are sharing here!

Let’s Party #14!

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

I was so very late last week and thank those of you who came back to check in on me!

It’s been an interesting week! Baby Nolan, Randi and Matt came in for Easter weekend … Nolan got his first swim in the pool. I’m so glad that Mark picked up the solar pool cover to warm the pool up quickly! Yes, it works! It went for 72 to 84 in 5 days … the power of sunshine! I’m looking forward to some float time in the near future!

Mark’s been doing good … a little tired and had a few days where swallowing and eating was difficult but still can’t quite pinpoint what is triggering the issues.

I’m am ready to get this party on the road again!

Hey! Are you ready for another Party??

I’m late this week … sorry!

kirkland fully cooked bacon costco.jpg

Here’s an off the wall picture of the Kirkland Brand Fully Cooked Bacon … they must have finally paid off Hormel to get their own! $11.99 (if my memory serves me right) and so worth it since I’m the only one that seems to eat the stuff nowdays!

Mark had his 2nd round of chemo Tuesday with his continuing pump through Thursday afternoon. So far, he’s tolerated it rather well, a little queasy, a little tired, a little bit of that jolting/electrical charge in his mouth, throat, lips and hands when cold things make contact. That’s due to the Folfox I guess. All the things they told him to expect. I’m hoping that he tolerates Friday better than the last time!

Ok, that’s it for the Mark update!

We had some awesome shares last week! But because I’m LATE, I won’t be linking any of them but please, be sure to check out some of the great stuff that’s being put out there!

clam chowder to eat

Mark had his first round of chemo Tuesday with his continuing pump through Thursday evening. So far, he’s tolerated it rather well, a little queasy, a little tired, a little cleaning of the pipes, etc. All the things you’d expect. He explained Friday afternoon that he felt like he had just a little bit too much to drink the night before, which, he hadn’t … but he equates his feeling to a slight hangover. I will say that his energy level is LOW … and I’m trying super hard to be patient and understanding about it. This is what I will have to work on … I hate sitting around all day and night without doing something …

Ok, that’s it for the Mark update!

We had some awesome shares last week!  *UPDATE – my links did NOT pull in on the original post but I’ve since fixed that! Whoops!*

Emily at Life Sew Savory shared an awesome Tomato Basil Bruschetta … this is one of my all time favorite appetizers to make!

And then there was Jessa at Low Carb Delish sharing her Cheesy Cheddar Cauliflower Rice … I’m going to have to give this a try and share my results … her dish looks super delicious!

And because Easter is right around the corner AND I’m a grandmother now, I had to check out these Cute Chick Easter Crafts by Kelli at 3 Boys and a Dog! Definitely pinned this for the future (I’ve got a year or so to perfect my child crafting skills!). I think I need to start a Pinterest Board called Nolan Skills 😉
